About the Role
Magen Ephraim Sephardic Academy (MESA) is hiring a passionate, student-centered Elementary Judaic Studies Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time, in-person position at our private Sephardic elementary school in Great Neck, NY, a warm, mission-driven community where educators are empowered to do their best work.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver engaging, rigorous instruction in core Judaic Studies subjects including Chumash, Parashat HaShavua, Chagim, and Keriah (Hebrew reading)
- Create a joyful, values-driven classroom culture rooted in Sephardic tradition and Jewish identity
- Use differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of every student
- Foster each child’s spiritual, academic, and character development through meaningful Torah learning
- Collaborate with colleagues in a supportive, mission-aligned professional community
- Cultivate a lifelong love of Torah through creative, inquiry-based lessons and authentic connection
What We’re Looking For
- Background in Jewish education with elementary teaching experience
- Knowledge of and experience teaching Chumash, Parashat HaShavua, Chagim, and Keriah
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction across diverse learners
- Deep appreciation for and commitment to Sephardic tradition and values
- Collaborative, growth-oriented mindset and a joyful approach to teaching
