ABOUT THE RISE
RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns is a unique and immersive family-friendly walk-through experience which features over 7,000 hand-carved jack o’lanterns, 3,000 specialty lanterns, hundreds of family-friendly Halloween-themed displays, and the world’s longest jack o’lantern trail! It is one of Long Island’s original and most visited fall events!
POSITION SUMMARY
Join our team as our campus is transformed from a magical wooded summer camp to a spooky Jack O’Lantern filled trail! If you love Halloween this is your chance to experience the thrill for the month of October. We are looking for enthusiastic, entry-level candidates for various positions. Although no prior experience is required, a positive, customer-focused attitude is essential.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
For Cleaners

Maintain Cleanliness of all used spaces on campus.

Trash and litter removal at the end of the night.

Cleaning and restocking bathrooms.

Sweeping concessions areas during the event.
For Greeters & Ticket Takers
-
Scan tickets
-
Greet guests in a warm & welcoming manner.

Assist guests in navigating the campus during the event.
-
Can anticipate the guests needs.
-
Effectively communicate with house managers to resolve any issues with guests in a friendly & professional manner.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years old.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which includes standing and walking for long periods of time and lifting heavy loads up to 50 pounds.

Strong interpersonal skills required.

Customer service skills preferred.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work nights, weekends, and irregular hours.
-
Willing & able to work outdoors during the fall season.

Capacity to work both independently and as a team.

Ability to take direction and complete tasks assigned by supervisors.

Honest and ethical.

Can-do attitude with the ability to find “yes”.

Ability to maintain a positive outlook and a “go with the flow” attitude.

Have a reliable means of transportation.

Ability to be punctual and reliable.

Must complete New York State required trainings, including but not limited to a Sexual Harassment Prevention training. Links to required trainings will be provided after hiring.

CPR training is not required but a plus.
Have reliable transportation to Usdan’s campus. Requests for accommodations are subject to approval by senior management.
SEASON DATES AND TIMES
October 2, 2025 – November 2, 2025
Varying times from 4:00 P.M. – 11:00 P.M.
Closed Monday and Tuesdays.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$17 per hour for Greeters and Ticket Takers.
$16.50 per hour for Cleaners.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Usdan is a 140-acre campus with facilities spread throughout – distances vary and are along uneven surfaces, up and down hills. Some facilities are elevated and require one to two stairs to enter. Other physical demands include the ability to work in a hot, humid environment; the ability to speak clearly and understand the speech of another person; and the ability to prioritize sounds and focus on one sound among many.
