Job Description
Amber Waves has part and full-time Market Associate positions starting Sept through December and year-round. The Market Associate role is an essential part of our team; we rely on knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate staff members to communicate with customers and visitors. Ideal candidates must have a positive attitude and be ready to pitch in to assist with a variety of tasks.
Core Responsibilities:
- Welcome and interact with the public, assisting visitors, answering questions, and addressing issues with the help of a manager on duty
- Process orders and purchases at checkout with working knowledge of point-of-sale register system.
- Assemble to-go orders.
- Maintain displays, ensuring all are fully stocked, fresh, and labeled appropriately with up to date signage.
- Process and package back stock of inventory, including produce, grocery, bakery, meats, beverages, prepared food, etc.
- Perform general cleaning tasks, maintaining appearance and cleanliness both inside and outside of the retail market.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 1+ year prior work experience in food retail experience preferred.
- Outgoing and friendly disposition with desire to provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly.
- Self-starter and go-getter attitude with the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational/time management skills. Understanding of urgency, prioritization, and quality/accuracy necessary associated with task completion.
- Passion for the Amber Waves educational mission and values of sustainability, stewardship, community, and exploration. Confidence to share this knowledge and passion with the public.
Work Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time: 32-40 hrs/week. Must be available to work on weekends. All full-time employees will have at least 1 day off per week.
- Part time: 20-30 hrs/week. Must work a minimum of 2 days per week Market shifts may start as early as 7:00 AM or end as late as 7:00 PM.
- Shift length may be 4-8 hours according to business needs
- Starting Sep through Nov/Dec or also year-round available
- Weekend only shifts available
- $15.00 – $17.00/hr, (depending on experience)
